Fourth Grade Science and History Museum Projects
Third Reminder Letter
April 25, 2014
Most students are progressing nicely on their projects for Science and History Museum Night on May 14, 2014. Here are a few updates and some advice:
· By now, your child should have his/her three sources. They may have more, but three is the minimum.
· Students should have decided on an idea for the hand-made object. Over the next few weeks they should begin gathering materials and start making the object.
· Within the next two weeks, students should begin on the trifold posters. Posters must include: person’s name, pictures with captions, short life summary, and a bibliography (we will send home more information about how to do a bibliography next week). They may also want to include a timeline of the person’s life.
· We are currently working on speeches in class and should finish them up during ISTEP. We will then begin practicing them in class.
· Objects, costumes, and posters are to be brought to school on Tuesday, May 13th; so any last minute corrections or additions can be made.
Students should be VERY busy researching their person now, and they should have a good idea for a HANDMADE object.
Lettering for their person’s name for the poster can be cut out here at school. Students need to place their orders early: color request, and exact name is needed. We have a few parent volunteers, but if you would like to help with cutting the letters please let us know.
Thanks!
