Science and History Museum Project Reminder 4
May 3, 2013
Mrs. Retz and I wanted to update parents as to the progress of our Science and History Museum projects. Please remember that students should be working on each piece of the project a little at a time. So here is a list of what students should have completed by the end of this week:
ü Gathered and read 3 resources
ü Speeches finished in class
ü Gathering items of clothing for a costume
ü Start working on the three dimensional object
ü Gather materials for the posters
We will practice the speeches in class; please help your child practice their speeches at home as well. Next week students need to continue work on the three dimensional object that will be displayed in front of the poster (this object should relate to their character and be CREATED by the student).
The final part of this project, the poster, should be started next week as well. Materials needed for the poster will include a tri-fold poster board, colored paper, and pictures of the character. We have also talked about writing a bibliography and provide parents with a reference sheet for the bibliography; a very helpful link can be found on Mr. Spahr’s class website: www.gtes4.weebly.com. If students would like to have their character’s name die cut on colorful paper, we will need to know by next Friday. Students should include their name, what color they want used, and the letters they need cut out.
One final update: The Science and History Museum takes place on Wednesday, May 14from 6:15-7:00.
